C-Town ESL classes help students gain confidence, better knowledge of EnglishT1

Nearly 60 Celina area residents are engaged in the American tradition of education to eventually achieve a better life.


The 60 residents are enrolled in English as a Second Language classes at C-Town in the former Celina Middle School building on Pecan Street. The classes meet Tuesday and Thursday nights for three hours. Celina High School Spanish teacher Melissa Romero and Celina school district Information Technology Director Marilyn Chambers teach the classes. The classes are funded through the $5 million Title I priority school grant the Celina ISD was awarded nearly two years ago through the State of Texas.
