UConn plan shows academic profile of team facing sanctions

This article is from USA Today
On Wednesday, the University of Connecticut released a redacted version of the more than 100-page document supporting its request for a waiver of the penalty that would bar its men's basketball team from the 2013 NCAA tournament because of the team's poor academic performance in recent years.
A tournament ban could impact recruiting and also cause some current players to either transfer or go early to professional basketball. The school also feels as if players on next year's team would be unfairly punish for not being part of the classes responsible for the lowAcademic Progress Rate, which measures eligibility and retention.
